Kim Delaney, an American actor best known for her role as detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she was awarded an Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her role as a character in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the only child of her homemaker mother and an executive in the United Auto Workers. Delaney lived most of her life in the company of four brothers. She envisioned becoming a court reporter in the early years of her life, however she began modelling in high school eventually garnering commercials following her move into New York. In 1981, she appeared as a naive teen in All My Children. Since then, Delaney has appeared in numerous films television movies and dramas. She has not had a good or satisfying personal life. The talented actress has had to deal with addiction issues in the past and has been through two divorces. The actress lost custody of her son in the year 2005.
